Emotion #8: Pressure vs. Confidence | Under Pressure? Learn to Walk through this Christmas Season with Confidence!
We’ve been counting down to Christmas by focusing on the 12 different emotions the Christmas season can bring…
Trying to decide between a Christmas card that says, “Happy Holidays” or a card that says, “Merry Christmas”?
Our confident joy for our Savior’s birth is not something we should feel pressured to hide.
If you are feeling the pressure to conform to society’s PC attitude toward Christmas, here are some great tips to ignite a spark of confidence in your spirit!
Your Confident Joy Will Set You Apart.
So many Christians are living just like the rest of the world—not experiencing life as God has designed it and not experiencing freedom.
If you let the culture tell you how to act and what to say, then you are not really free.
Don’t fall into the trap of hiding your Christmas joy because you are afraid of offending others. Remember, what the culture demands of you and what God demands of you could not be further apart.
You were called out of the world.
It’s okay to be excited about your faith at Christmas! Our unapologetic joy at Christmas is a reflection of our thankfulness for our perfect Savior who made it possible for us to experience God with us. This is why Jesus is called Emmanuel, which means “God with us.”
God has called us to be lights of faith and to take His message into the world with confidence.
Don’t forget, YOUR example may be the only Bible someone ever reads.
You do not have to stand on a soapbox and evangelize outside stores this Christmas. Your confident joy is what will set you apart in the eyes of an unbeliever.
Go HERE for some inspirational Bible verses to help you be confident in the Lord this Christmas.
Don’t Guess. Pray!
Billy Graham once said, “Prayer is crucial in evangelism: Only God can change the heart of someone who is in rebellion against Him. No matter how logical our arguments or how fervent our appeals, our words will accomplish nothing unless God’s Spirit prepares the way.”
I loved the Reverend Billy Graham for so many reasons, especially for his wisdom about prayer. Go HERE to read his short devotional and learn more about the importance of prayer. In this devotional, he wrote, “A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian.” So good!
Pray for God to infuse your heart ❤️ with the wisdom and boldness of His Holy Spirit, the Spirit that grants us boldness so we can share our faith.
Being meek in your faith this Christmas season is exactly what the enemy wants, so trade that fear of judgment or pressure to “fit in” with an attitude of boldness!
You were called out of the world, so why would you obey its demands?
Acts 4:31 (ESV) tells us:
And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
The world is known for insecurity, fear, and doubt, but believers are called to share their faith with excitement, boldness, and confidence!
Don’t miss the opportunity to share God’s greatest gift of salvation with someone who is walking in darkness.
Remember, in sharing God’s love, you are truly the hands and feet of Jesus.
Your example is important to God, to the body of believers around the world, and to unbelievers as well.
If an unbeliever sees timidity in you, that is not a true reflection of God’s Holy Spirit.
Your life should look different from other people’s lives, so it points them to the amazing God you serve!
